What to expect

Tony Prescott, Professor of Robotics at Sheffield, on where psychology and AI actually meet — what intelligence is, whether the brain is a computer, whether models understand anything, and how close superintelligence really is. He wrote the book of the same name and illustrates it with work from his own lab on memory and sense of self in robots.

A BCS Edinburgh branch evening at Skyscanner's offices, free and open to non-members, 16+. This is a conceptual talk rather than anything you will apply at work, and it is the better for being honest about that.
