What to expect

Dan Wang on his book Breakneck and the argument at its centre: that US chip export controls have accelerated rather than slowed China's push for AI self-sufficiency. Wang spent years in China as a technology analyst and is now a research fellow at Stanford.

He is in conversation with Professor Alexander Evans of the LSE, followed by audience questions. Free, at Space House in Holborn. Geopolitics and industrial strategy rather than anything hands-on — useful if your supply chain, hardware costs or model choices are exposed to how that competition plays out.
