What to expect
Sarah O'Connor of the Financial Times on her book We Are Not Machines, and a more interesting argument than the usual one: her reporting found people are not mostly losing jobs to machines but losing something else — work becoming lonelier, less creative, less fair. Translators editing AI output, graduates interviewed by software, warehouse staff working among robots.
Chaired by Professor Damian Grimshaw at King's, free, seventy-five minutes at the Science Gallery. No technical background needed. Note that King's overbook these deliberately, so arrive early. She is also speaking in Bristol in November if London does not suit.
